Sunday School Hits Full Stride
Pressure Points The popular Sunday School Series features ethicist Lee Taft, discussing “Faith, Doubt, Suffering and God’s Peace.”It will meet in the ESD Library at 10:00. The Pressure Points series, which will continue through May, will address issues such as: “Living God’s peace amidst today’s politics, wars, and business agendas,” and “Being instruments of God’s peace in our families and workplaces.”
Rector’s Forum Beginning Sunday, January 15, Bob Dannals will look at the lives and personages of the “Followers of Christ.” Building on his fall series “Famous People and Families of the Bible,” Fr. Dannals will examine the personalities and the principles of the Disciples of Christ, starting with Peter. The Rector's Forum meets in Saint Michael Chapel.
Family Living Class Dr. Saleem Ateek, a Dallas Psychologist, will address “A Strong Family – A Strong Faith” during a two week series in the Parish Hall beginning next Sunday.
Parents of Teens For the next two Sundays (15th & 22nd), Kathleen Fischer, well-known parenting coach, author, and educator, will present “The Rock Tumbler of Life,” and “A Series of Gracious Retreats” as she speaks about raising and parenting teenagers. The class will meet at 10:00 in the Coke Activities Room.
The World’s Religions Christianity and how it fits with the other religions of the world will be the focus of the class, which last year examined Judaism, and religions of the Far East. It meets in the Parlor beginning next Sunday.
20.30 A Class for Young Adults Physical Faith – God becoming Incarnate in Jesus Christ underscores created matter being good. The series explores what embodied faith and spirituality look like. Topics include obsession and addiction, body image and ideas of beauty, faith and food, yoga fitness, and a Skype session with a seminary professor, theologian, and Jungian therapist. Next Sunday Jemonde Taylor kicks off the series at 10:00 in the Chapel Conference Room with “Human Beings; Created Beings…Good!”
