In memory of one of our former rectors at Saint Michael and All Angels, the Robert E. Ratelle lecture was established in 2004. Fr. Ratelle was deeply interested in biblical theology and ethics and encouraged bringing speakers to Saint Michael who can make these topics relevant to faithful daily Christian living. We invite you to mark your calendar for the entire lecture series. We look forward to seeing you!

Amy Jill LevineThis year, the Distinguished Lectures are proud to welcome Dr Amy Jill Levine, University Professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies and E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Professor of New Testament Studies at Vanderbilt University, as a visiting scholar.

Dr. Levine will come to Saint Michael three times during the year addressing the theme of
BIBLICAL TALES OF COMMUNITY: IDENTITY, CONVERSATION, AND ENGAGEMENT

Our faith calls us to respond to others, recognizing them as children of God.
Our faith challenges us to interact with all of God’s creation in a particular way.
