Prayer Shawl Ministry

A “hands on” ministry for those who love to knit and those who want to learn to knit. Knitters knit, pray, and tag their shawls with a prayer for the recipient. The shawls are then blessed by the clergy and the congregation in Sunday services before they are given to those who are in need. This has been an effective ministry in extending the love of our parish to those who are hurting or ill. To date, over 1,000 shawls have been knitted and given away by this ministry. Bring your needles and join this group who meet every Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Coke Activities Room.

An Evening with Amistad Executive Director

In 2002, Chris King visited Villa Amistad with a group of youth from Christ Church in Nashville. He recalls the joyful love of God he felt while in the presence of the children.
