Food 4 Kids

The Food 4 Kids program provides kid-friendly, self-serve food for the weekend to those elementary school children most at risk of going hungry over the weekend. Currently serving over 200 schools in 17 school districts, the program provides food every weekend during the school year to approximately 4,400 children in the greater Dallas area.

Every Friday, students at BrightElementary School in Frisco take home full backpacks. But they’re not filled with homework; they’re filled with food.

The North Texas Food Bank fills about 1,250 backpacks with weekend snacks for kids who don’t have access to adequate nutrition each week through the Food 4 Kids program.
