Get Involved
Looking for Something Different?
We offer a safe place where you can be who you are, warts and all; where you can escape to think, ask honest questions, and get real answers; and where you can connect with God. We want to bring Christ’s Kingdom of healing and wholeness, as we give ourselves to serve others, loving our neighbors as ourselves. Are you looking for something like this? Please join us!
Activities for Fellowship and Fun:
We meet weekly for food and fellowship after Church on Sundays at Saint Michael and at the Canterbury SMU student center. We also meet monthly for “Faith and Film” nights — where we watch and discuss movies — and for “Theology on Tap” — where we grab a frosty beverage and talk about the intersection of religion and real life. In addition, we have occasional retreats and special events, such as sports games and cultural activities
Activities for Worship and spirituality:
We offer a wide array of weekly worship and prayer experiences. On Sunday mornings at Saint Michael, we have contemporary, family, and traditional worship (as well as a dynamic Sunday school!). On Sunday night at Canterbury SMU, we have Candlelight Communion followed by a free community meal. Throughout the week, we have Evening Prayer and Midday Eucharist services at Canterbury (when school is in session). On a monthly basis, we have special worship events, such as Taize meditative worship and Prayer retreats.
Activities for Growth and discipleship:
We pack the school year with opportunities to grow in faith. Sunday mornings at Saint Michael feature excellent Bible study and topical discussion classes. Midweek, we offer several Bible studies for different groups at Canterbury SMU (this varies with the semester). On Wednesday nights, Saint Michael presents a young adult ministry.
Activities for Service and outreach:
On a monthly basis, we offer community service projects with local area charities and social justice organizations. We take yearly mission trips to places and people in need of hope, help, and healing either in the US or abroad. We also offer connections to a host of local organizations where you can get personally involved in serving the Dallas area in Christ’s name.
Ministry for out-of-town college students:
Saint Michael and All Angels is committed to helping students flourish and grow in Christ as they leave the Dallas area by helping them reconnect with their faith when they come back home. We can help connect students with campus Christian groups at whatever college or university they attend. We will offer a Spring Break mission trip in conjunction with Canterbury Dallas, and summer mission trips in conjunction with SMAA Youth Ministries. We will offer fellowship activities and events during breaks.
