Leadership Opportunities

Leadership Saint Michael

The Leadership Saint Michael program grew out of a desire to offer a series of classes for parishioners who feel called to greater leadership roles in the ministries of the church. The sessions are educational, fun and interactive and include a time for fellowship and conversation around a variety of topics: church growth, the theology of leadership, worship and music, Christian formation for children, youth and adults, pastoral care, outreach and mission, and looking at local, national, and global issues. For more information, please contact Paige Wilbur at .

Disciples of Christ in Community (DOCC)

Disciples of Christ in Community (DOCC) is a national adult formation course which provides an opportunity for individuals to explore together, for 13 weeks, the heart of the Christian life, to build community and to experience the powerful and mysterious presence of God at work in their lives. The class explores the church, the person of Jesus, how God calls us into community and how we are transformed by love, as well as sacred listening to and telling of our own stories. For more information, please contact The Rev. Amy Meaux at

Cursillo

If you are ready for your next step in building a closer relationship with God, Cursillo may be for you. During a Cursillo weekend, the teachings of Jesus are discussed in a climate of joy and friendship. The schedule is interspersed with recreation, laughter, songs, and moments of reflection and silence. Please contact Steve Black at or Mary Ruth McKenney at for more information.

Education for Ministry

Education for Ministry, or EfM, is an in-depth study of the Old Testament (Hebrew scriptures), New Testament (Christian scriptures), church history, and theology. Each week participants engage in prayerful discussion of topics in relation to culture and personal growth. A process of theological reflection relates all readings to issues in society and our personal spiritual journeys. The course requires a commitment of time and attendance. EfM is an adult extension course from The School of Theology at The University of the South (Sewanee) and is $350.00 annually. For more information, please contact Adult Formation at
