Ministry to Newcomers

This ministry welcomes those who are new to Saint Michael, including visitors, new members, and those who transfer from other Episcopal churches. Newcomers are incorporated into our parish family in several ways:

Inquirers’ Class

Every spring and fall, Saint Michael offers an adult Inquirers’ Class both for those interested in joining the church and those in need of a refresher course. Even if you’re a life-long Episcopalian, this is the best way to learn about Saint Michael and meet others new to the parish. The class begins with Discovery Weekend and continues with three Wednesday evening gatherings. It covers the worship, practices and governance of the Episcopal Church as well as the traditions, programs, and ministries that Saint Michael offers. For more information, please contact The Rev. Newcomer Luncheons

The Ministry to Newcomers sponsors two luncheons for all those who are visitors, regular visitors or new members. This calendar year they will be on October 4, 2009 and April 18, 2010 in the Coke Activities Room. If you are new to Saint Michael, please join us for lunch and a time of conversation about this parish and the ways you can be engaged in ministry.

 
Welcome Packets

If you let us know that you are visiting Saint Michael or seeking a new church home, you will receive a Welcome Packet with lots of information in it to help you find your way. Please indicate on a blue Connect Card which can be found in your worship bulletin or at the Information Booth.

 
Nametags

Knowing the names of the people in your church home is an important piece of becoming involved. Please make sure you wear your nametag on Sunday mornings or when you’re at any Saint Michael event. To order a nametag, sign up at the reception desk in The Lanai.
