“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
- John F. Kennedy

The last six months have provided us with a tremendous opportunity, getting to “taste and see” all the wonderful things that our church has to offer, where we are heading, and just what it takes to get there. It has also been a microcosm of the amazing “community” that is our church, showcasing the extraordinary talents of our staff, clergy and a “can do” corps of lay volunteers. Conducting a successful campaign involves countless hours of preparation, paperwork and performance under pressure. The level of professionalism, energy and enthusiasm of a tremendous church staff, clergy, vestry, and an outstanding stewardship committee, has inspired and sustained our focus throughout this campaign. Words simply cannot express our gratitude!
From the outset, our committee delivered a message that “Giving” at Saint Michael and All Angels is more than just a pledge; it’s an expression of gratitude and an answer to God’s calling. Healthy, faithful stewardship provides Saint Michael and All Angels the lifeblood of our ministry of the Body of Christ. We are blessed that so many of our parishioners faithfully answer “Here I Am, Lord” year after year.
We thank our 2013 pledgers for your financial commitment to the church and its future. Just like the Trinity, a church’s prosperity hinges on three basic tenets… Time, Talents and Treasure. Or, put in simpler terms…attendance, participation and money. Each of these simply cannot survive on its own. Yet, when all three are put together, an extraordinary expression of the Kingdom of God becomes reality. Every day, in the halls of the church, throughout Dallas and around the world, lives are impacted and transformed because our “community” of faithful parishioners dutifully answers God’s calling.
The work involved with this campaign is far from complete, yet we would be remiss if we didn’t take advantage of this opportunity to remind those “procrastinators” among us that there is still time to submit your 2013 pledge. The stewardship committee will be working throughout December and January, reaching out to parishioners who have not already pledged and asking for their financial commitment. If you should hear from us, we appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue in our efforts to maintain and improve upon the fiscal strength and financial stability of Saint Michael and All Angels.
We thank you for saying “Here I Am, Lord”.
