Lay Eucharistic Ministers (L.E.M.s)


Participating in communion is at the very heart of what we do as a community. When our homebound parishioners have communion brought to them it helps them feel and know that they are part of the community. In addition, there are those who lead active lives in our parish who are sometimes sidelined by an illness or surgery and miss taking communion while they are out. They appreciate and desire the sense of healing that is conveyed through the Eucharist.

This may be a ministry for you!

If you find that you possess the following essentials, you may wish to look into the possibility of becoming a part of this very special ministry:

     -   you have a great reverence and appreciation for the sacraments
     -   you have compassion for those who are ill
     -   you are willing to participate in the training program provided
     -   you are ready to devote several hours toward this ministry on one regular Sunday per month
     -   you have the recommendation of one of the clergy and two other lay leaders
     -   you would you like to be an active member of the Pastoral Friends (attending on-going training sessions)
         or Community of Saint Benedict

Persons who perform this service are trained in both pastoral care and liturgy. The entire process is carefully regulated to maintain reverence for the sacraments and care for those being served.
