Pastoral Care

"To build the Kingdom of God by responding in love to those in need.  I give you a new commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you."
John 13:34

Christ's commission to the disciples - to preach, teach, heal and proclaim the Kingdom - is also our commission. All Christians are called to extend the hope of healing and the importance of mutual support in community. Through the Pastoral Care Ministries of Saint Michael and All Angels, the sick and lonely are visited, meals are cooked and delivered to those who need them, neighbors reach out to neighbors, cards are sent to commemorate passages in life or just to let someone know they are thought of, telephone calls are made to keep in touch, prayer shawls are knitted, blessed, and delivered, people are prayed for, those who are experiencing grief are cared for, communion is delivered to those who are home or hospital bound, and support groups meet to reach out to those in need. These are just some of the ways we serve in the name of Christ.

We encourage all members of Saint Michael and All Angels to be a part of the Pastoral Care Ministries by:

  • Becoming a member of the Stephen Ministry, a one-on-one confidential care-giving ministry to hurting people in the parish. To learn more, CLICK HERE.
  • Calling the church and notifying one of the Clergy, the Assistant for Pastoral Care, , or the church receptionist when you or your family member goes into the hospital or is in need of pastoral care
  • Calling the church Prayer Ministry Request Line (214-363-5471 ext. 304) or filling out the online form  if you have a prayer request.
  • Calling the Priest-on-Call number (214-232-7512) when a death or emergency occurs in your family.

We also invite you to be a part of the caring community that is the Pastoral Care Team by joining us in one of the many ministries we provide.

If you or someone you love is homebound or unable to participate in church activities and would like communion or a visit from one of our clergy or parish visitors, please contact .
