Staff News: Rev. Lisa Musser to Depart Saint Michael and All Angels in June
I write to you with the news that the Rev. Lisa Musser will be leaving her position with us as Associate for Worship and Liturgy at the end of June. Lisa and I have been in conversation about her goals for ministry and what next steps might look like for her, and I believe she will be called to be rector of a church soon. Lisa has served our community proudly and honorably for the last seven years, and her gifts and skills for ministry will be a gift to her next parish. Saint Michael has a history of raising up leaders for the broader church, and I am excited to see where the Holy Spirit will lead her next.
While we are sad to see Lisa go, we are so grateful for everything she has done and all that she has meant to Saint Michael. Lisa has done great work in many areas of our community, especially in Pastoral Care and Worship and Liturgy. In addition to her ministry on staff, we have had the privilege of witnessing and celebrating with Lisa in her marriage to David and in the birth of their son, Gabriel. You are invited to celebrate this next chapter in Lisa’s ministry on her final Sunday at Saint Michael, which will be June 23rd. A farewell reception in honor of the Musser Family will be held after the 9 am services that day in the Parlor.
Whenever priests leave a parish, it is customary to make a love offering to them in appreciation for their ministry among us. If you would like to make a contribution to Lisa’s gift, please make your check payable to Saint Michael and designate “Musser gift” in the memo line, and please send your gift no later than June 20th.
I hope you will join me in celebrating Lisa, David, and Gabriel as they begin this new journey. We send them with our love and prayers as they continue to spread the Good News of the Gospel!
The Reverend Dr. Christopher D. Girata, Rector
