Cold-Weather Kits Needed!

Help us keep Dallas warm! Volunteer to assemble cold-weather kits for our unsheltered neighbors this week. Purchase the materials, pack the kits, and help provide warmth during inclement weather.

Kits can be delivered to Austin Street Center, OurCalling, or the Main Church Office at Lomo Alto.

Volunteers are needed to help OurCalling as we care for our homeless friends in Dallas with dignity to keep them out of the cold weather.

While we enjoyed mild temps over the holidays, the cold front is coming! These temperatures are life-threatening to our unsheltered homeless neighbors who are exposed to the elements. 

In response, OurCalling is gearing up to operate an emergency Inclement Weather Shelter in collaboration with Austin Street Center and other partners. We anticipate opening at Fair Park on Sunday, January 5 and will have the capacity to serve approximately 900 of our homeless neighbors. OurCalling will operate the shelter, providing food, security, and guest care. We will remain open until the weather stays above freezing (we expect at least through next Wednesday, January 8, maybe longer). 

If you have time to volunteer or would like to extend the invite to others, we’d love to have you. There is no orientation required. You can sign up here.
