Whom We Seek:
The Director of Youth Ministries oversees a ministry that seeks to help all 6th–12th grade students on the church youth roster make steps toward deeper maturity in Christ, by building a youth ministry that reaches new people for Christ and makes a difference in the world.

Job Description Overview:
- Develop a program that engages a growing number of the middle school and high school students in the various Youth Ministry opportunities
- Exceptional and personal follow up to all first-time visitors
- Foster relationships with youth and their parents, providing training, encouragement, and pastoral care
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to empower youth to grow as disciples who lead others to Jesus Christ
- Oversee Confirmation, Sunday morning Formation, and all youth programming possibly including Sunday night youth group and/or midweek small groups
- Collaborate with the Youth Ministry Task Force to grow the Youth Ministry and to develop new programs
- Recruit, train, deploy and support the Youth Ministry volunteers to maximize their effectiveness as well as the Youth Ministry
- Plan and execute retreats, mission trips, and pilgrimages for the Youth Ministry as well as monthly service opportunities
- Attend weekly Sunday morning worship services and engage in the parish life of Saint Michael
- Plan and promote the programs and events through website, bulletins, social media, print, and email communications so that the targeted number of youth participate
- Provide support and training for parents in mentoring their children in the faith
- Supervise the Assistant Director of Youth, Youth Interns and Administrative Assistant
- Create, submit and adhere to approved annual Youth Ministry budget
Qualifications:
- A faithful follower of Jesus Christ
- A high-energy, vibrant personality and commitment to excellence and professionalism
- People oriented, dependable, good moral character
- Must be supportive of Episcopal tradition and theology
- In agreement with and an embodiment of the Values of Saint Michael: Collaborative, Loyal, Effective, Kind, and Growth-oriented
- 4+ years of experience working with preteens and teens (preferred)
- The ideal candidate will understand the value of staying in the position long enough to form relationships, build the program, and make a meaningful difference.
- Seminary or other theological training is a plus
Benefits:

- Salary range: $65,000 - 80,000*
* Pay will be negotiated based on level of experience, qualifications, and applicable skills
