THE REV. MARY T. LESSMANN
The Rev. Mary T. Lessmann serves as Associate for Spiritual Growth at Saint Michael and All Angels. Prior to joining Saint Michael, Mary served as Vicar of Good Samaritan Episcopal Church in Dallas. Previously she served for four years as Associate Rector for St. Andrew’s McKinney and, during her seminary formation, as Director of Educational Programs at Church of the Incarnation in Dallas. Mary, a CPA in her former life, was ordained in 2009. A native Texan, she holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas A&M University and a Masters of Divinity from Perkins School of Theology at SMU. Mary and her husband, Russ, have two young adult sons.
CHRISTINE HAND
Christine Hand has been performing her soulful folk-rock in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for twenty years. Her latest record, the Book of the World appeals to fans of her acoustic folk-rock sound and sings with a passion and intensity that is reminiscent of Carole King but with the soul of Sam Cooke. With PhD in literary studies, she has also used her love of music and literature to write for the stage, including original songs for local musical theater and musical settings for Shakespeare’s lyrics for productions by The Stolen Shakespeare Guild in Fort Worth.
Pub Theology Music Series spotlights singer/songwriters from the DFW music scene, featuring a fifteen minute concert at the beginning of each evening, helping us discover new artists that are thoughtful and engaging, intersecting art and faith. Stay tuned for details.
