Support Dallas Tornado Relief Efforts
Saint Michael is so thankful for the ultimate safety of those impacted by the recent tornadoes--and also for the overwhelming desire demonstrated by parishioners and others to help those in need! To help in the relief effort, we've provided a few options below. Thank you so much for your willingness to help care for those in need. Here are ways you can help:
Donate Money
We are so moved by the generosity witnessed thus far in our parish tornado relief efforts, as we have just passed the $25,000 threshold! But don’t stop now - there are many in dire need that still need help! Through your continued generosity we can clothe students, help displaced families find homes, and care for so many day-to-day needs we take for granted. This donated money is being disbursed in conjunction with the organizations listed below, targeting specific relief needs as directed by those agencies. We’ve already been able to purchase 300 school uniforms for DISD students displaced from their school!
- North Dallas Shared Ministries (NDSM), more info
- Dallas Independent School District (DISD), more info
- Gateway of Grace, more info
If you prefer to donate by check, please make your check out to Saint Michael and All Angels with Tornado Relief in the memo line and bring your check to the church receptionist.

Many local organizations are assisting in relief efforts. Here are a few options:
North Texas Food Bank - The NTFB is collaborating with the Red Cross and Salvation Army to provide assistance to those in need. They are providing food and water to first responders and ensuring that shelters in affected areas have supplies. They encourage you to consider donating on their website, or to host your own canned food drive. Learn more about how to host a food drive.
Red Cross of North Texas - A Respite Center is open at Bachman Rec Center 2750 Bachman Drive. They are currently making plans to accept food and donations. Please follow @RedCrossNTX on Facebook and Twitter for updates. Additional efforts will be needed in the near future as the level of damage is assessed and debris is cleared. To volunteer with the cleanup efforts, please visit their website.
St. Vincent de Paul - Please consider donating basic household items for displaced families. Donations can be delivered to St. Vincent de Paul's thrift store located at 3052 W. Northwest Highway Dallas, TX 75220. If you are interested in making a financial donation to directly assist families, please visit their website to learn more.
United to Learn - Several local school communities were affected. Please consider contributing to United to Learn's Tornado Relief Fund. All funds will support the emergency needs of their partner schools and their families including Walnut Hill Elementary and Foster Elementary.
Dallas Lutheran School - Sustained significant internal and external damage. More details are provided in a Facebook post by principal Todd Nitz. They are accepting donations on their website.
If you know of any other efforts taking place to help with debris clean-up, stocking shelters, distributing food to first responders, etc., please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
