Our Pillars of Faith
At Saint Michael and All Angels, we use four terms to summarize the ways God calls us to grow as we walk the path of faith. Those four words are âpray,â âlearn,â âserve,â and âgive.â Each of these terms signifies a distinct dimension of the life of faith, a particular area of our lives within which God invites us to grow in specific ways.
Pray
Growing in prayer involves deepening intimacy with God through adoration, intercession, and thanksgiving, integrating these practices into daily life. We do this in part by learning to pray in the ways given to us in the traditions and practices of the church, such as the Book of Common Prayer.
Learn
Growing in learning means recognizing the Gospel’s impact on all aspects of life, understanding Jesus Christ’s mystery, and letting it shape our self-perception and worldview. This involves accepting Jesus’ invitation to know the liberating truth through familiarity with Church traditions, teachings, and practices.
Serve
Growing in serving involves participating in Christ’s servant ministry, recognizing life’s occasions as opportunities for God to work through us. This fulfills baptismal vows to seek and serve Christ in all people, love others, and strive for justice and peace, offering God’s mercy and grace to others.
Give
Growing in giving means embracing our role as stewards of God’s creation, receiving everything as a gift from God, and sharing it with others. This fosters generosity with time, talents, and resources, enhancing our practice of thanksgiving and making our lives more Eucharistic.

With a diverse range of parish groups, Bible studies, support groups, and various activities, there are countless opportunities to connect, engage, and make lasting friendships. At Saint Michael, youâll find a place where you truly belong!
UPCOMING DATES TO NOTE
- On Sundays from July 28 through August 11, nursery care, Sunday School classes, and youth groups will take a break, but all ages are invited to join us in worship!
- On Sundays from August 18 â September 15, Things pick up again for these groups , with activities taking place in the Church narthex and Douglas patio s at 10 a.m.
- September 22: Education Wing âMove-In Dayâ Since this past May, construction has been nonstop as we renovate the Education Wing. These newly designed spaces will maximize our ability to promote a life of discipleship as we will be able to hold robust Children, Youth, and Adult Sunday Formation classes, allow for weekday programming and meetings, host special events, and so much more. On Sunday, September 22 at 10 a.m., children, youth, and parents are invited to get a sneak peek at the Education Wing spaces and help decorate the classrooms to prepare for the parish wide âOpen Houseâ on September 29.
