God's Story

Join us during 2019-2020 for Our Story! Details and recordings from God's Story, our 2018-2019 all-parish formation program, below.

One of the great opportunities we have at Saint Michael this program year is everyone reading through the narrative of the Bible, “God’s Story,” together. Each Sunday morning at 10 a.m., members and guests of all ages will attend an age-appropriate lesson and hear God’s plan of salvation unfold. This is a wonderful way for each of us to deepen our faith and for families to grow together in their faith and understanding of the Bible. Watch Rector Chris Girata’s introduction video to God’s Story to learn more.

Pick up the chapters we are unable to cover on Sundays as well as provide a better opportunity to ask questions and to go deeper by listening to Eric Liles' audio study, God's Story Continued.

Bookmark this page (saintmichael.org/GodsStory) and come back often to continue engaging with the God's Story program.

The Bible and the arts are inherently and historically linked. Since the 4th century in the Christian era, congregations have been guided by the lectionary's imaginative and disciplined journey through the Bible. Using these readings, the liturgy, music, colors, movements, and celebrations of the church year, the Bible and the arts are brought together in a significant way. Imaging the Word is a resource providing visual arts, music, photography, prose, poetry, prayers, and commentary based on each Sunday's lectionary readings. The class is open to everyone anytime.

Join Chris for an exciting study of Daniel and Revelation, the two most significant apocalyptic books of the Bible. We will consider how these books have been understood (and misunderstood!) throughout Jewish and Christian history, and how they can guide us in our own discipleship today. Enneagram & Parenting

Wednesday, March 10, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

7-8 p.m. Via Zoom

Children raised in the same home with the same parents can have very different personalities.  This is because, regardless of environment, we are each born with a disposition toward our personalities.  And parents have their own personalities that impact how they parent. Enneagram & Parenting looks at each of nine numbers and their tendencies and priorities that show up in parenting.  It also helps parents understand how their number may have compatibility or conflict with children who are different numbers.  The goal of the class is for us to understand ourselves and become better parents to our children regardless of their number. Completion of The Enneagram Journey class is required in order to participate in any Enneagram Intensive offering. For questions and registration, please contact Mary Lessmann at [email protected].

If you are new to Saint Michael, curious about the path to membership, or simply want to learn more about life at our parish community, we invite you to join us for two different class events we have throughout the year: "Saint Michael 101" is an introduction to life here at SMAA, and "Episcopal Christians", where we explore what it means to walk as a Christian in the Episcopal tradition, discussing topics like our Anglican heritage, worship, the Bible and formation etc.

Flowers in our holy worship spaces are a beautiful gift to God and those who attend services at Saint Michael as well as those being honored or remembered. A contribution to the Flower Fund is a meaningful way to honor or remember a loved one for special life events such as birthdays, anniversaries, baptisms, confirmations, thanksgivings, or in memory of a loved one.
