Worship at Saint Michael and All Angels
Worship is one of the principal ministries of Saint Michael and All Angels Church, and is one of the many ways we help one another grow in faith so that we may then be a blessing to the world. In the words of the Catechism, we make it a point to gather together each week “to acknowledge the holiness of God, to hear God’s Word, to offer prayer, and to celebrate the sacraments.” Through regular participation in corporate worship, we are equipped to be ministers of God’s grace and love in the world. All worship at Saint Michael is based on The Book of Common Prayer, but we offer services that exhibit a range of styles.
Our “traditional” services are celebrations of the Holy Eucharist that typically include congregational singing supported by an organ and choir. Our “contemporary” services are also celebrations of the Holy Eucharist but the congregational singing is led by a worship band. We also offer a service designed for families with infants and young children called “Joy!” A schedule of our upcoming worship services can be found here.
In the midst of our busy lives, taking time to gather with others for worship can be a challenge. And yet, it is worship that helps ground us and bring every dimension of our experience into proper focus and alignment. At Saint Michael, worship is one of the principal ways we welcome people into our community, we help one another grow in faith, and we are empowered to be agents of God’s grace in and to the world. All are invited and encouraged to join us for worship as we seek to grow in the knowledge and love of God.
