Honduras Threads

There is constant need for a few knowledgeable folks to join the effort in Honduras!

Honduras Threads’ mission is to strengthen the fabric of lives through work, pride and faith. We support women in rural Honduras outside Tegucigalpa, enabling them to earn money without leaving their country, communities or families. Their work enables them to feed and educate their children and empowers them as owners of their own business, making beautiful hand-embroidered items for you to enjoy.

Since 2002, we’ve worked with the women teaching embroidery, sewing and now business skills. Saint Michael volunteers in Dallas work year-round tagging new products, doing photo shoots for the online store, collecting donated fabrics and staffing the sales. On the annual mission trip, we teach an entrepreneurial operating system and are helping the women open a new market in Roatan. All proceeds of sales go directly to the artisans. In 2017, the five informal co-ops formed a “social enterprise” registered with the Honduran government. Our goal is to help them move as close to sustainability as possible, realizing that it is also a mission and will need an ongoing presence in the US. The impact is building!
