Prayer Shawl Knitting Ministry

Meets on the First Tuesday of the Month

To date, over 2904 have been knitted and distributed by the Saint Michael Prayer Shawl Knitting Ministry, extending the love of our parish to those who are hurting or ill. Each of these shawls is tagged with a label that identifies it as being knit with love at Saint Michael and a healing prayer is added. Each shawl is blessed by the clergy and by the entire congregation prior to distribution. Join us for camaraderie, prayers, and the joy of knitting a message of love.

During the week, knitted (and blessed) prayer shawls are available in the Pastoral Care Ministries Office, 8100 Lomo Alto, Suite 235. Please contact Katherine Bowen, [email protected] to arrange a time to pick up a prayer shawl. During weekend reception hours in the Lanai (Saturday 8 AM—12:30 PM, and Sunday 7:00 AM—12:30 PM, prayer shawls may be picked up from Bonita Frederick, Weekend Receptionist. Contact Peggy Carr, [email protected] with questions.

Saint Michaelites Knit With Love For Others

Often during Sunday morning services, communicants stop at a small credence table on their way to communion to place a hand on a knitted or crocheted prayer shawl, joining with clergy to bless the handmade shawls that will be distributed to people who are ill, confined or grieving.
