Welcome-Greeter Ministry
The Welcome-Greeter Ministry is an intergenerational ministry and a simple, fun opportunity to begin serving on Sundays at Saint Michael. The goal of Welcome-Greeter Ministry is to welcome, inform, and help connect parishioners, guests, and visitors on Sundays with the many different ministries and opportunities to pray, learn, serve, and give. Welcome-Greeter Ministry has two core Sunday serving opportunities: Greeter Volunteers and Welcome Liaison Volunteers.
A Greeter Volunteer is often the first person a parishioner, visitor, or guest encounters upon entering the doors of Saint Michael. It is important for that first experience to be encouraging, welcoming, and helpful. Greeters are particularly helpful in guiding people unfamiliar with our campus, to different destinations such as restroom locations, worship services, receptionist area, formation classes, and childcare.
A Welcome Liaison Volunteer is intentionally looking for and connecting with people who are new to them, visitors, guests, and people they may have not seen in a while. Welcome Liaisons provide a valuable and strategic way to not only welcome people but also take a little more time to talk with new people and get to know more about them in a conversational manner.
The goal is to create a kind and relational culture that will help us build a stronger sense of community inside and outside the parish walls and help people learn about, explore, and connect with the many wonderful opportunities to grow in their relationship with God and others at Saint Michael.
If you are looking for a next step, being a part of the Welcome-Greeter Ministry as a Greeter and/or Welcome Liaison volunteer makes serving on Sundays intentional, strategic, collaborative, and fun. It is also a great way to build stronger relationships, encourage and bless others and meet new and interesting people.
