Candlelight Mass

The Candlelight Mass is a modified Rite II Eucharist held on Saturday evenings, typically in either the Church or Saint Michael Chapel (look for information regarding the location in the Sunday News and also posted in the Church building). The service is reflective and contemplative with guitar accompaniment. When the service is held in the Church, those attending are seated around the altar in monastic fashion.

This service uses a special service leaflet and the Book of Common Prayer.

This service is a traditional Rite I Eucharist. It uses the Book of Common Prayer and Hymnal.

Joy Mass – 9 a.m.

The Joy Mass is a modified Eucharist designed for children 3-5 years old and their families. The service is held in the Theater. The atmosphere is informal. Music is contemporary, with keyboard and singing by the Junior Cherub Choir. Children are invited to sit in front of the altar during the sermon and the first part of the Eucharist. Families volunteer to serve as ushers.
This service uses a special service leaflet.

Rite II Eucharist – 9 a.m.

The 9 a.m. service in the Church is a traditional Rite II Eucharist. Traditional Anglican music accompanied by the Church’s organ is provided by the Saint Dunstan’s Choir, which consists of both children and adults. Children and parents who prefer a more formal service are among those who attend, as well as a large cross-section of adults. Lectors and acolytes serving at this service are typically teenage parishioners.

This service uses the Book of Common Prayer and Hymnal.

The 11:00 a.m. service in the Church is a traditional Rite I Eucharist. Traditional Anglican choral music with organ and the Oratorio Choir is a central part of the service. A cross-section of the parish attends this service, which uses the Book of Common Prayer and Hymnal.

The Celebration – 11:11 a.m.

The Celebration is a contemporary worship service held in the Parish Hall. Service music is a blend of genres, led by an acoustic worship band. There is a 20-minute sermon and Rite II Eucharist each week.  The service draws a diverse group of parishioners who prefer a less formal, more relaxed service.

This service uses a prayer book liturgy and contemporary music presented on Power Point.

Youth Mission Trip to Bolivia

SMES Summer Camp: Arctic Blast

It might be hot outside, but this camp is cool!  Join SMES’s Ms. Carolyne in an arctic journey filled with storytelling, movement and creativity as children learn yoga poses from the animals of the North Pole, play games, make crafts, and learn about animals that live in the Arctic.  Campers will need to bring a lunch and wear loose fitting clothing or yoga attire.

The Mission of the Saint Michael and All Angels Caregivers Support Group is to assist those in our parish who are caring for a loved one.  We do this by providing a confidential place to share feelings and experiences of caregiving and by providing books, pamphlets, and handouts on a variety of topics related to caregiving in the Church Library.  Click here for our Index of Church Library Resources for Caregivers.

Men’s Lectionary Bible Study

This men’s group meets to discuss the lessons for the current week from the Lectionary, exploring ways in which the passages speak to every day life and our own spiritual journey.  Lessons and commentary are emailed early each week to enable participants to familiarize themselves with the material.  On a rotating basis, participants facilitate discussion by studying the lessons and reviewing available information on the subject.  Following the session, those participants who have time to do so move on to the Flying Fish nearby in Preston Center for breakfast.
