CHORAL COMPLINE COMMEMORATING 9/11

Fall Compline Bulletin

Starting in Fall 2022, we will offer in-person Choral Compline in our church 5 times. On each occasion, the main church Douglas Avenue doors will be open to a quiet, candlelit church at 7:30 p.m. All in-person Compline services will also now include light coming only from candles, processing, incense, and a reception following.

Coming from the Latin completorium, from which we have our word “complete,” This meditative service is designed as the concluding prayer of our day. Lasting a little less than 30 minutes and in our candlelit church, this liturgy centers around the Psalms, Scripture, and prayers taken from Scripture (including the Nunc Dimittis – the Song of Simeon). Unaccompanied music by the Compline Choir of Gregorian chant and Renaissance polyphony - no sermon or Holy Eucharist. The particular liturgical aesthetic of our Compline is aimed at concluding our weekend with reflection, calm, and peace. Compline is an ideal setting for those who may not regularly attend church.

Our team in Children and Family Ministry provides children, ages 0 – 5th grade, and their parents with the tools they need to become faithful disciples of Christ. We achieve this through fun and interactive programming that allows children and families to explore their faith together.

We are located just south of Northwest Highway off of Douglas Ave. at Colgate Ave. Via Northbound Tollroad: Exit Lovers Ln, continue straight on Lomo Alto a few blocks to Colgate. Church is on your right. Via Southbound Tollroad: Exit Northwest Hwy, turn left to Douglas Ave. Turn R on Douglas and church is a few blocks down on your right. Via US 75: Exit Northwest Hwy and go west to Douglas Ave. Turn R on Douglas and church is a few blocks down on your right.
